How to use it

  • Open the in-game console with F5. On a dedicated server, admin commands run from the server console or by making yourself an admin on the player list.
  • Type devcommands in the console to unlock most commands. The badge on each card tells you what a command requires.
  • Search or filter to find the command you need, then copy it straight into the console.
  • Server Admin commands (save, ban, kick, setkey) work from the dedicated server console without devcommands.
  • Debug commands like god, fly, and nocost are for testing. Avoid them on shared progression realms.

FAQ

▸Why does a command do nothing when I type it?

Most commands require devcommands enabled first, and some only work for the host or in singleplayer. The badge on each command card states what it requires. On dedicated servers, moderation commands belong in the server console.

▸Do admin commands work on any server I join?

No. Server Admin commands require admin status for that server, and devcommands are typically host-only. That is by design: it protects shared worlds.

▸Is exploremap reversible?

No. Revealing the full map for everyone cannot be undone. Use resetmap only when you are certain, ideally with a world backup taken first.

▸Is this the full Valheim command list?

This is a curated set of the commands server owners and admins actually use day to day, organized by what they do rather than dumped as one list.
